Alpine Mountain - Présentation de la station
Like most Pennsylvania ski areas, Alpine relies on its 100% snowmaking capability to make sure skiers and riders have a good time. That's not to say it doesn't get its share of natural snow, but with a yearly average of just over four feet, snowmaking is essential.
Terrain
The area caters to intermediates, with just over half its terrain devoted to them, and it also specializes in children's programs, including a kids' racing program.
This compact area offers 500 feet of vertical, 60 acres of terrain, a pipe and a terrain park. One fixed-grip quad and two doubles serve the slopes. There's night skiing and a tubing park, the latter boasting a new area just for little kids. A major renovation of the terrain park should be expected this season, and a new Pipe Dragon grooming machine will tend to the half pipe.
The full-service base lodge features a cafeteria and lounge, pizza parlor, rentals and other guest services.
Alpine Mountain is pretty much situated in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, so visitors will find a wealth of lodging and dining choices in the many nearby towns and small cities.
