Station de ski la plus proche de Denver et l'une des rares à proposer du ski nocturne au Colorado. Elle se trouve à quelques kilomètres de l'I-70, sauf si vous prenez la route plus longue via Idaho Springs. Son ambiance familiale et intimiste contraste avec celle des grandes stations commerciales situées plus loin. C'est un endroit idéal pour les débutants et pour ceux qui, comme moi, n'ont pas skié depuis plus de deux ans et souhaitent s'y remettre.

Jérémie a été d'une grande aide pour le choix et l'essayage des chaussures de ski, et Timm était un moniteur formidable et très sympathique. Un télésiège pour les skieurs intermédiaires et confirmés, et un escalator pour les débutants. Ambiance conviviale sur les pistes et au restaurant. On vous indique où vous garer, et même les jours d'affluence, l'attente pour récupérer le matériel de location était courte. Il est préférable d'acheter vos forfaits et de louer votre matériel au moins la veille. Les réductions militaires sont appréciées, merci.

Excursion d'une journée facile depuis le nord de Colorado Springs ou Denver. Vous ne prenez l'I-70 que sur environ 8 km. Si vous avez des enfants, vous pouvez compter sur environ 50 % du temps total pour skier ou faire du snowboard, ce qui est exceptionnel pour moi. Les stations proposant l'Epic Pass offrent environ 20 à 30 % de temps sur les pistes si vous souhaitez optimiser votre journée, et la circulation peut être infernale sur l'I-70 au retour. Station familiale, ambiance décontractée, je suis surpris que des endroits comme celui-ci existent encore.

J'ai retrouvé des amis et leur fille de 2 ans pour faire de la luge sur bouée. Je suis arrivée 1 h 50 en avance et j'ai attendu 20 minutes sur le parking à essayer d'acheter un billet en ligne. N'y parvenant pas, je suis entrée. On m'a alors annoncé qu'il était impossible d'acheter un billet pour moins de deux heures en ligne et que le prix était passé de 29 $ à 42 $ POUR UNE HEURE ! J'ai demandé si je pouvais acheter un billet pour l'heure suivante et faire de la luge tout de suite. Refus catégorique. Précisons que c'était un mercredi après-midi et que les pistes étaient complètement vides. Mais aucune exception, aucun égard, aucune excuse raisonnable du genre « ce n'est pas grave, il n'y a personne, on vous vendra un billet à 29 $ ». Rien à faire. J'ai posé la question à deux employés différents… même attitude indifférente.
Franchement, la piste de luge ne vaut pas 29 $ de l'heure et encore moins 42 $. Je déconseille fortement Echo Mountain.

It's a great deal! Fun place for a quick family trip! The tube sledding is awesome! and so is the food!!

Echo is a rather beginner to intermediate practice mountain with 2-3 runs and one ski lift. It's not a place where you would want to go on a multi-day trip, but is better suited for the local Denver resident or an intermediate skier trying to get some practice in before heading to the big resorts. The food and bar is adequate and is relatively inexpensive. You will have fun, but not for long.

No Veteran's passes = I will not renew this year. Overpriced for what you get by far. Dangerous for beginners and on crowded days not infrequent to see skis and snowboards flying down the hill and airborn which is extremely dangerous!
Not recomendable unless you are intermediate and above and willing to swivel head the entire time onslope to avoid loose skis ans people out of control.

I took my parents here over the recent holiday week to refresh them after a 15 year break from skiing. The staff were helpful and friendly, the slopes were the perfect difficulty for getting their ski legs back, and there were enough steeper sections to keep me entertained as well. We got in for first chair, and didn't really face any crowd whatsoever for several hours.
Only downside was the single trail to the only lift. Its a moderately difficult green, and it proved too difficult for a large number of first time skiers who attempted it as the day wore on. By the end of our visit, the hardest challenge was dodging snowboarders wiped out on the way. This was likely more to do with the time of year than the resort, though, and overall it was still an amazing experience.
If you are a competent green skier at nearby resorts like Loveland, this could be the perfect place to improve and prepare for harder trails. You cannot beat the price or proximity to Denver, so I know I'll be back a few times this season!

WOW! Echo...what an experience! I tried calling Echo Mountain about 8 or 10 times over a 2 day period. Never got an answer. They just don't answer the phone there so I couldn't tell if they were open or get info. There website was also up and down. When I was finally able to open the website I found some old info on it from last year and the answers to my questions were not listed. They are simply way over priced for what you actually get and therefore a poor value. In addition, they don't offer any senior pricing that most all other ski areas (both large and small) do. I took a chance and drove up to Echo anyway and to my surprise they were open. I told ticket office staff of my frustrations and inability to contact them. The staff person's curt answer was that they are a very small area and just can't get to everything. (Note: I'm a single person business and have managed to stay in business for 30 years by handling everything by myself including phone answering) Echo was the 23rd of a total of 28 ski areas that I plan to ski yet this year in Colorado. And some areas I've skied so far are about the same size as Echo. Conclusion: All things considered, through my online and actual on the snow research, I find that Echo is without a doubt the worst ski area I have visited so far this year in Colorado. I give them a score of a generous one star.
