From the family atmosphere to the skiing and the food, Toggenburg is the best in Syracuse. As a family we have skied at all the local areas and we like Togg the best. Our kids learn how to ski there through Toggenburg’s Gatebuster program and they can now ski anywhere in the world. The food in The Foggy Goggle and the service is surprising for a ski hill. People who dont ski come out just for the food. It gets so packed on some nights that you might have to wait. I dont know of anyither ski area with such good food.

My son (4) wanted to learn to ski. We have family friends that go to Tog so we figured we'd tag along one day during the 17-18 season. The ski school was great! Son took right to it, had engaging instructors, and even progressed past the bunny slope in 2 lessons. Son was so successful that my wife (no ski experience) and I (10+ years of snowboarding) took lessons so we could keep up with him. We are now a family of skiers! Tog is a great "home mountain". The terrain isn't extremely challenging, nor varied, but it works for my young family. It has built confidence and passion for my family in a sport that I love. We may outgrow Tog, but it will always have a special place in our hearts.

I would recommend Toggenburg to anyone whom is just starting out all the way to groups of intermediates trying to have a little fun. Excellent ski club lessons available for those of whom are just starting out

• Great for group boarding and bombing the hills, fun for a short race with quick topside return
• Exact reason as pros, there's not much to it. Multiple lifts are great and the triple chair is steep, but overall I would say a very small hill in comparison

We made our 1st trip to Toggenburg this past weekend and it was a complete waste of time. I had my 6 year old who is just learning to ski. The rope tow is a joke. They should seriously consider getting the magic carpet style lift like Greek Peak and Song Mountain. Being that it was my son's 2nd day learning to ski, he was doing great skiing. The struggle was trying to get up the bunny hill. It was a busy day, there were a lot of skiers out, and the people working at the bunny slope just stood there and watched everyone, never attempting to assist anyone. People were falling down left and right off of the rope tow and no one ever came to help them. I find this very frustrating for beginner skiers who are trying to learn. It's hard enough for a beginner trying to learn to ski, it shouldn't be this hard for them to get up a bunny slope. We also attempted the other rope tow with the hanging black plastic things. As I'm trying to line my son's skis up, the hanging black thing came along and whacked my son in the head causing him to fall over. The guy working there just stared and never offered to show us what to do. So we attempted it again and my son got hit again and fell over. There was a line of people all staring with no one offering any assistance. The guy working the lift was in such a hurry to let us know that the lift was closing in 10 minutes but could not offer any help on how to get up the hill with these black things hanging off of a rope. He simply stared at us, watching my son getting hit and falling. I can't beleive he actually gets paid to be there. There were also young boys who were definitely not beginners on the bunny slope telling us we were too slow getting up to the rope and we needed to move quicker. They were extremely rude. I will never take my family to this mountain again nor would I ever recommend it to anyone.

I am from Syracuse and I go to ski club there on Thursday. I ski at Labrador on the weekends, and its superb there with a kick butt terrain park, best black diamonds, and actually fast lifts. The black diamonds at tog are very basic. They have a steep 15ft drop than its all flat. The blacks at lab are longer, harder, and more fun. They have a fair bunny hill at tog(Lab has a very flat one) but the instructors don't teach, they just ski down. They have much better food at tog but their so called 700ft mountain is lame. Song and lab both are 700ft but tog seems only 600. I recommend going to lab because they usually have 18/22 or more trails open at a time while tog has about 12/24 open. Song has all there trails open during the season but have lame blacks, outdated lifts, stupid lodges, and rude people(also a crappy terrain park)

No night life in a small town like fabius outside of the bar, which is toggenberg the park is ok, but kinda set up poorly, the diamonds are fairly steep, and you can get good speed on them all trails seem to have a uniform flow to them, with a steep drop at the end, (on the greens it could be intimidating for new snow birds) all in all for the price its not all that bad, lefts seem faster then other areas around

Terrible environment. Toggenburg is a hill not a mountain! Be aware of rude kids skiing there who think this skiing resort is their territory and nobody else is allowed to ski at Toggenburg!

One of the most important factors in the value of a lift ticket is lift to run time ratio, and Toggenburg has the best ratio of the 4 ski areas in central New York. However that advantage is lost if you end the day disappointed by getting rooked out of the last runs, and Tog habitually closes the lifts prior to the published and posted hours.
