I’ve been looking and refreshing the Whistler Blackcomb website for ski lift tickets for my boyfriend and myself for January 1, 2021. I was told to keep refreshing and so I did. I managed to find a pair the first time and proceeded to the payment and once the payment was processed the date for the lifts was incorrect and dated for December 29th. I called and spoke with the customer service rep to get a refund and was told that it would take 3-4 business days and so I should keep trying. I kept on refreshing the page until I found a second pair so I proceeded with the same steps and got the same outfome. I’m not to sure why it would process and then change the date to a date that I didn’t want. I called in once again spoke with Nisha and she had mentioned that there was nothing that they can do and no way possible I would receive my refund within the same day. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on me. At this point I’m very fed up. It was the companies error and the way that the situation was handled was not adequate. I spoke with the supervisor and got the same treatment and it’s ridiculous that they give no compensation either on their part.... Avis complet

We are Park City Utah locals. We've had many frustrations with Vail since they purchased Park City. It's truly lost it's locals feel and seems to be driven more by greed than customer service. However, since we live there we have continued to buy the EPIC passes. We just came to Whistler to use our EPIC passes and can now see the same poor service here at Whistler. Key lifts down for maintenance. Biggest lift lines we've ever seen. They won't honor my sons EPIC Pass here because his is a youth pass in Park City and we were actually able to get it at a discount. We flew all the way here to use our EPIC passes and now have to pay over $100 per day out of pocket for his ski passes this week. Zero flexibility in offering him any assistance or discount. Voids any savings we achieved by buying him a youth pass in the first place. Nothing but greed from this company. No customer service or appreciation of customer loyalty. IKON passses for us next year. We will see how that goes moving forward. Going to have to drive by Park City each day to go ski at other resorts but it's worth it to us at this point.... Avis complet

The mountain is staffed with 90% young people who are on a gap year. The experienced instructors are being driven away, the groomers walked off encases, and they struggle to keep the lifts operating. The top of the mountain did not open until mid January. We are hear for the season and will Nepotism repeat. We are a family of 15 skiers. The snow school experience has been good, the max 4 program is well run and provides a good value. ... Avis complet

Vail have turned Whistler into a frustrating experience for most people. I have spent 3 entire seasons there and have decided to sell my slope side apartment due to the following reasons: *a large proportion of the time you get super wet heavy snow. *lifts break down continuously - even the new BC Gondola- now called the”Breakdown Gondola” * lift queues are really really long even during the week due to breakdowns and slow opening of large areas of the mountain - rumors that Vail have staff shortages (they pay badly too) * Poor grooming in general- they pay their groomers CAD 15 per hr ( just above minimum wage) result is ungroomed runs or poor groomed trails, Restaurant prices are high- poor value for money in overcrowded restaurants and you have to clear your own tables as they employ too few cleaning staff, *Day lift pass prices are ridiculous, but Epic Season Pass Is good value - price wise if you spend the entire season skiing. I spend over 100 days skiing per year. * poor lift infrastructure for the amount of skiers on the mountain. They buy the cheapest lifts that the manufacturer supplies eg. their new Harmony 6 man and Emerald 6 man are uncovered and the basic models - no heated seats etc and in Whistler the conditions are often wet with rain high up on “those days” because resort is near the coast, In Europe the Lift Infrastructure is far superior even in less renowned resorts. I have Swiss friends who work at Arosa and Laax who confirm this fact. * I am now going to relocate for my winter season. Busy exploring the other possibilities ! * Don’t say you weren’t warned, ... We’re just about to go, and after many years of visiting this and many other ski areas all over the world we are worried. Why? The bad reviews? The lack of snow? These add to the angst, but the main problem is the change in attitude. I booked the package with whistler.com as I have done half a dozen times. This time it was different. The deposit for the apartment was taken, as per usual. No problem, a few hundred bucks to reserve until December. Except the lifts were also charged up front - thats a new one. No way you can cancel. They were also double the last time we stayed. And the ski rental was charged on the day - months in advance - never heard of that anywhere. I’ve been shaken down before in my greener years, but this seems to be in a different league. My wife normally goes along with a guide, but this year I hear they cost more than Richard Gere, so that’s not an option. So I think this year we’ll hope the reviews are all wrong and it will be the good old Whistler we’ve always liked. To be continued .... ... Avis complet

I have been skiing at Whistler regularly since the 1970s and have seen it grow from start up through the Intrawest years and into a global ski destination. Throughout all that time Whistler maintained its "skier first" mentality. This was always a skiers mountain with fantastic on mountain service and great, relaxed apres ski all maintained by top quality staff whether lifties, ski patrol or restaurant and bar staff. Grooming was ALWAYS excellent and expansive as was concern for customer safety. Despite its size it always felt like a community mountain. No more. Make absolutely no mistake, Vail in a few short months has ruined a decades of tradition with their relentless focus on profit at the expense of the customer experience. Lift prices ridiculous; grooming significantly more limited; staff limited and poorly paid. We are in mid January and virtually the entire alpine at Whistler is closed. This with a base over 190 cm in Pig Alley suggesting this is a cost reduction exercise. And we have not even started talking about accommodation prices which are now obscene. In short, if you are not wealthy with a passing interest in skiing Vail will not welcome you. As I walked through the village from the mountain to my hotel at 3:00 recently I estimated about 10% of the people in the streets had actually being skiing. The rest were there to shop and be seen. This is not a skiers mountain anymore. It is heartbreaking to see what Vail is doing to our beloved mountain.... Avis complet

It was a great place years back. After vail took over the lift prices are ridiculous. There are lots of great places to ski for a reasonable price. Revelstoke, Red mountain, whitewater etc. ... Avis complet

Have been coming here for 30 years. Vail’s take over has been absolutely terrible for Whistler. Line ups are horrendous as many lifts were not operating. They need staff to make sure people are filling the seats as some chairs are going up half filled. Vail is a money grabbing organisation that vastly underpays their staff, charges outrageous prices and offer poor value overall. Go to interior mountains if you want great snow and value for your hard earned money.... Avis complet
