Great place for beginners, or young children just learning to ski. The area is small enough you don’t have to hawk your elementary school aged kids. You can all the green runs from the porch area. The tow rope can be a bit tough for smaller children, but the tiger lift can drop them off and the can ski over to the same terrain. Overall it’s a positive experience. ... Avis complet

I am by no means a ski snob I grew up either slumming it out at Mt Baker and 49 degrees north on runs buried in pow, chill vibes, and terrain steep enough to make a kid cry sometimes, or dodging rich people at Stevens pass tearing up groomers. I came into Snow Creek with fairly low expectations having only skied fairly big mountain resorts on the west coast. I showed up in a pair of coveralls a ball cap and a pair of leather mitts I bought for 12 bucks at a hardware store. Despite feeling extremely under dressed compared to what I usually ski in I was unaware of how much fun I was going to have at the creek. I got the college pass for 40 bucks and got my skis from the excellent rental center. the people behind the counter seemed tired but were extremely helpful. I met up with my buddies and we took a lap on the smaller chair to warm up. so far so good. We hit Show Me next and Ill tell ya the lifties are super chill guys and if you are nice and say hey and joke around with them they are just as good as any of the guys and gals I've came across at any other resort. The runs were overall pretty good I hadn't skied for about a year so i didn't go absolutely full send but I was able to hit the bowl and six shooter pretty good and got some great turns early in the night. As the night went on the snow began to re freeze and this is where problems arose. You would start to see these big icy spots develop on the runs and if you hit one just right you'd have to stop for a sec and regain your balance. Also while being a Midwestern ski area with way less snow than we get in the cascades, it is a shame that you are relegated to just the trails as there seems like there is some decent tree skiing to be had if those areas got some snow. Overall though a good little resort with decently steep terrain and good vibes to appease my appetite for skiing while i'm out here for college... Avis complet

Great slope for beginners with good instructors. The Ski lodge is really excellent with a good restaurant and a nice little bar upstairs for apres ski. We're really lucky to have it here near KC !!!... Avis complet

Snow Creek is a *very* good place for kids, as they have a terrific Snow Monsters program and ski school. To be sure, the hill is relatively small, the facilities are decidedly frill-free, and powder days are rare (though not completely unknown). Still, given what they have to work with, they do a pretty good job. Intermediate and advanced skiers, if able to take and appreciate it for what it is, will find enough to keep them happy for a couple hours and make visits worthwhile. (Having the NASTAR course running makes a world of difference in this regard.) Except on the beginners' lift, the lines are usually not too bad, especially during the week, though they could do a bit better job managing the lines when it is crowded. Despite being a monopoly, the prices, while hardly cheap, are not exorbitant and they provided decent snow even in this exceptionally lousy past year, though it would be good to see them leave at least one or two runs ungroomed once in a while. The place clearly caters more to snowboarders, as evidenced by their relocating the terrain park to one of the better runs a year or so ago, and tubers, but it doesn't take much time here to realize that is understandable from a business standpoint. ... We live in suburban KC - have been bringing the kids here for the past 4 years. The Sunday Night special is great - $30 for me (with my equipment), $40 for them (renting equipment) - and we get in 4 hours of skiing. The snow conditions vary because the weather in KC is hardly ideal for this. It can warm up during the day which means ice after sundown. They have expanded their facilities which improves the speed of rental - usually we can get through in 20-30 min. There can be a ticket line at 4. The service is generally friendly and good. The lodge is really just a tin barn with a cement floor - so not all that comfortable if a non-skier wants to come along and hang out. If you're an intermediate and don't mind repetition, the lines at the two triple chairs to the left are usually short. The beginner double chair line can be long. They call one run a black but there really are no expert runs. Even so, for what it is, it's fun. There is no pretence here as most people are rental beginners from KC - so not that much money in equipment or clothing - and no attitude at all. We go back often because it is what we have available. ... Avis complet

It only has 300 ft of vertical, the lift operators are horrible, and the cust. serv. is putrid. If you just buy a ticket, hike the hill, and ski, it is not even close to being worth the $49 an adilt pass costs.... Avis complet
