I am a long term Ski Apache customer and repeat Season Pass Holder that is dismayed and shocked like so many others at the deterioration in this facility, the staffing and customer service! This "Once Upon a Time" fantastic operation is doomed and the ownership doesn't seem to care! Please Sell This Operation now to those that know how and Have "The Want To" Bring Back this Facility and Make It Better With Each Year Moving Forward! PLEASE! I so Miss Chairlift #1 Ops and Green Chili Cheese Burgers with Beverage Breaks at The Now Long Ago Abandoned "Moonshine Burger" Patio, Restrooms and Grill! Heartbreaking and Senseless Loss!!!... I have skied Ski Apache for over 30 years. After the forest fire in 06 and the new managers the resort has really lost its way. They claim to have 1200 acres to ski, but a third is never open and another third is only open a few days a year. Another issue is that they only open a few lifts each day based on how many people show up and that limits your access to many trails and runs. If they report 100% open and you come during the week, you will be disappointed! Apache bowl is a wonderful place for boarders and skiers, but is only opened when large crowds are expected. You can’t believe anything they repot on the daily snow and trail grooming report because it’s never correct. Ticket prices are sky high for what you get.... Avis complet

I am 58 years old and I have been skiing at apache for 20 years. Three years ago the new management shut down the lifts to the Apache bowl accept for the weekends. With ridiculous price increases, this is not acceptable to the customer base. Even the chamber of commerce has complained about the new management. We will not return until the resort resumes business from the past. Opening up all trails available, staff members making up lies about broken lifts. We want to return but will not do so until ski apache opens their eyes to the greediness of the owners. This resort is doomed to fail unless they return to reality. They have deleted my posts from their site in order to escape embarrassment. This is not acceptable. Do your own research and discover the ripp off this resort has become in the last 2 years!... If you're able to ski most of the mountain confidently, check out their season pass sale in March or April. For several years I paid $250-260 for the full pass on sale. I'd ski at Apache when I arrived to pick up the pass, usually until around ten or eleven, before heading north to use it for reciprocals. That's where the value is, because skiing there can be a frustrating waste of time, especially with good conditions. Assuming the gondola is running and the bowl is open, you may be able to access the one kind of steeper tree run, which is quite nice when deep, but you'll traverse a lot to get there. Otherwise, tree skiing there is a good way to tear up your jacket and generally a bad idea for most of the way down. This is assuming there's a lift running to the top. They often prioritize the base area or simply don't open. Picking up the pass in the off season took three days once, although I never had an issue with snow on the ground. Ruidoso is a big detour from anywhere with good skiing, so getting the pass in person was always a chore. I found the reciprocals paid for the pass, but last year Red River was removed from the list. The number of partner resorts may change between the purchase of the pass and the beginning of the season. Depending on what they offer, it may still be a good means of seeing northern New Mexico and parts of Colorado on a budget. All of them have entertaining intermediate terrain and several have expert terrain to make Ski Apache feel much less appealing. I have to express appreciation to them for bringing northern New Mexico and parts of Colorado into my price range. I became a better, more experienced skier as a result. However, given the recent increases in price which coincide with a steady decrease in overall value, I'm not going to suggest it as a viable option, even to beginners in the future. The seven plus hour drive to alternatives will likely turn off the vast majority of potential new skiers with whom I discuss the sport. It was a good run, but I'll see you farther north from now on. Big thanks to on the snow for being around a bit longer.... Avis complet

On February 3rd we got 18" of snow. I got there at 9 when the lifts are supposed to be open. There were no lifts open. The employees who were "digging" out in order to run the gondola (usually the only way to get to the top of the mountain) were barely making an effort! They were working so slowly that a half dozen snowboarders jumped in and used their snowboards to do the job! Meanwhile, about 10am the Capitan lift opened and all of the skiers were skiing ONE run all morning! I left about noon, disgusted that no one could get to the top. They had just started the cable on the gondola, still no buckets. When I got home I checked the webcam and they had buckets moving but still not loading!!!! This ski area has taken a nose dive since the new management came in! Next year there won't even be a free ski pass for those over 70. They doubled the prices this season so I shudder to think what passes will cost next year!! So not worth it until they get effective new management!!!... Avis complet

So the prices jumped outrageously. Also when you get in the gondola they used to have staff that would place your skis in and help you in and then do the same when you got off now they just sit there and stare at you. Hey ski Apache what the heck has happened to you... Avis complet
