I’ve skied at 119 resorts, and PowMow is best for the aspects I care about: more terrain, lots of trees, few people, high-enough snowfalls, and light snow. I will be a Mountain Host 2x a week next season, and will spend the whole of March slopeside (ski-in, walk-out). You can also get me, Julie, Loel, Dave, or Emily to guide you inexpensively into snowy tree, trail, and open bowl skiing that will contend for “best ski day ever”. You can lodge in Ogden, at the base of PowMow in Eden or Huntsville, or slopeside (elevation 7,300). More is at Up Top Alpine Hospitality, the site that helps skiers/boarders with lodging and guided tours in the Rockies, especially Utah. Even on weekend afternoons, a single rider and just one other human in sight is a common occurrence on many of the 8400 acres at PowMow. For comparison: Acreage at Powder Mountain, Utah, exceeds those of the combined FOUR major resorts in Utah’s “Cottonwoods”: Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, and Solitude. Acreage exceeds these combined four resorts in Colorado: Aspen, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, and Telluride. If comparing to Vermont, well the famous four “S” resorts there, Sugarbush, Stratton, Stowe, and Mount Snow combined are less than one third of Powder Mountain’s acreage. Indeed the skiable area of ALL 17 public resorts in VT, including Killington, could fit inside Powder Mountain’s skiable terrain. And PowMow’s skiable acreage is well larger than Whistler-Blackcomb’s. Canadian resorts are allowed to report “acreage” as anything in-bounds, even if the terrain is unski-able tight trees. Take that away from Whistler-Blackcomb and it’s 2/3 its reported size for actual skiing. (Yes, I’ve made a diligent comparison.) And so…the powder lasts longer here. I’m now a host and some-time guide at Powder Mountain. If you join me within 4 days of a snowfall, I promise to take you to powdery turns, in-bounds, on parts of every run. ... Avis complet

No crowds and relatively cheap day tickets were a big appeal of Pow Mow. Fortunately for us we go about 6" of fresh pow to play in as well, which is what they advertise themselves on. Now for my honest opinion. Pow Mow is probably an awesome mountain if you're a beginner or intermediate. However if you consider yourself more advanced, they really didn't have too much expert runs or challenging terrain. At least that was accessible from the lifts. Perhaps if you pay for the Cat or are willing to hike a lot more then it can be found. Which brings me to my next point. The mountain itself is laid out kind of weird. There are a lot of just straight up flat spots, which actually sucks on a pow day. Got stuck a few times. The resort is massive but its not easily accessible. They could really benefit from some additional NEW lifts to access more terrain. And the lifts they do have are dated and quite slow. If you're looking for a nice lodge to chill in or some apres this definitely isn't the place either. I still had fun but would rather ride other Utah resorts before this one. However if value, intermediate terrain, and no crowds are your thing then you may enjoy pow mow more than me. ... Avis complet

love this place, so tired of the crowds at the other resorts. Tons of terrain, not sure on expert slopes, skiing with my son, so couldn't hunt those scary stuff out. 3 days after a dump and still had powder runs.....unbelievable... Avis complet

We had a killer all-day guided snowboarding session our first day on the mountain with Josh Phillips. He’s very laid back and was quickly able to figure out our ability levels and then tailor the day’s adventure accordingly. Josh gave us an adventure to remember, sharing some of his secret powder stashes and keeping us safe in the process. My two teens and I had a blast. Josh is a great guide and has the same sweet laid-back vibe of the people at Powder Mountain as a whole. The place is special, for sure.... Avis complet

Powder Mountain has the best snow in Utah. And it’s one of the best kept secrets. Something for everyone and great for all ski levels. Food is a little pricey but good. Lift operators have always been friendly and helpful. We bought passes this year and are happy we did. Great day skiing and one of the few night skiing areas in Utah. You can literally ski all day here. Love it!!!... Avis complet

Good snowboarding day. Lot of fresh powder and snowing all day. Nice wide trails. Only con is there aren’t many signs. Couldn’t find a lot of the trails and all the long trails leading to the paradise lift were all green. Great beginners course. Like one big bunny hill. ... Avis complet
