Went here for the first time in 20+ years this past weekend with my boys, ages 9 and 12, and my parents. We all had a great experience. The snow was great and the runs were the perfect blend of challenging and fun for all of us, and there were so many to choose from that we never got bored. The Wine Hut was a great stop for a mid afternoon drink and snack. I do hope they rebuild/add onto what is left of their lodge following the fire last season. While I appreciate that carry ins are allowed because there is no food sold in the ticket area, it would be nice to have some concessions and indoor bathrooms and more space to come in and sit to warm up. These were minor inconveniences for me because the skiing was so great, but improving their lodge area would make this a 5 star destination for our family. ... Avis complet
Been skiing out west for decades. This area has the “out west” feel. Valid if plenty of new snow. Excited to go back. ... Avis complet
I am one of the first ski members when White Cap first opened in the early 1960"s when Doc Patterson first opened the ski resort.
Always a great ski resort.... Avis complet
Visited after big two day thaw followed by sub zero temps. Grooming was done everywhere evenly, but it froze hard corduroy. Not very carveable. Mid week February and only 6 cars here! $15 lift ticket on retro 70’s day. Portapotties at rental ticket center. Restrooms in hotel. Great intermediate area 80%, advanced mogul areas, 10%, beginner winders (long) in back (Lech) 10%. Leave backpacks in car unless you can load while carrying it. A few more fresh inches and/or skiers to breakup the crust and this place will be dynamite.... Avis complet
Had a fun time skiing at Whitecap this past weekend. There are some real fun runs to be had at this place. Offered some challenging terrain on the southside. I've got to give a shoutout to Joe who was running a lift on the southside; dude was grilling up some awesome chicken and hot dogs. He is possibly was the nicest lifty I have ever came across. The Wine Hut was a blast to hangout in for a while mid day. The lifts need some love, but it is what it is. I'll be skiing here again. ... Avis complet
Glad we only spent 1 day there. It was so icy that it felt unsafe with kids there. Went over to another place and found groomed slopes. In talking with others in town it sounds like new owners but same conditions. No one understands why they put the bar over the hill for priorities. ... Avis complet
Usually great hills, but they did not take care of the runs and with icy conditions it was a let down. We did get a little snow, but ice underneath made it very scary. I'm not sure why they didn't groom better as I saw the groomer tracks but it left a lot of ice chunks. I heard the new owner put 3.5million into this place, but the only thing that looked new was a bar and restaurant. With lift ticket prices we always pack our own food for lunch, but we did try for dinner and was not impressed. I was also hoping for a new and improved room but instead got the same old 1970s look with bedding about that same age. The tube tv was funny to see and great to see kids reaction to it. ... Revel in the powder Lake Superior brings to this gem of three mountains awaiting the hardy and adventurous skier. Take a mid-morning break at the ski hut at the bottom of the north east face Thunderhead Mountain, just one of three mountains to thrill any skier of any ability.'t be disappointed.
Whitecap is a relatively little known gem of the best skiing in the mid-west. Go there. You wont be disappointed.... Avis complet

Give it time, the skiing is worth it! I had been there nearly 20 years ago and loved this place, the best of the 4 other local hills, but was sooooo disappointed when I trekked my entire family from Orlando and extended family up to White Cap. It by far is the best terrain and snow still, but the resort itself, lodging and amentities are a disgrace. I friended some locals there and they said it was 1000 times better than the last 10 years it had been run, as has been newly purchased and the new Managment have a 5 yr plan to make it the place it deserves to be. We stayed at the Mountain View 1&2 (sleeps 15), but we only had 10 and it was just the right size for our group. Beds were terrible, older than my father (62 yrs), but linens were clean, but Goodwill grade. The place was clean, but so so dated, tattered and torn furniture and appliances. Bathrooms were very clean, towels were nice and fresh, but no water pressure, nor would the bath tubs drain properly. It was not owned by White Cap, but when brought to their attention, they said they would contact the owners immediately. The Lodge itself is being transformed and they have put a lot of effort into it, you can feel their love of the place and service at any point in the resort is EXCEPTIONAL! They are really trying and they have the BEST SNOW AND HILL AROUND! We look forward to coming back next year and will give them as much business as we can, we cannot wait to see the place in 5 years!... Avis complet
My family and I have been skiing at White Cap for twenty years and we love the setting. We all have our favorite runs and enjoy the diversity. The grooming is great, but there are powder options also. Since there are two hills you always have a protected slope to escape strong winds. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. the lodge is old, but we have a lot of terrific memories. The wine hut is a nice place to stop and get warmed up and share a drink. My grandsons will be carrying on the tradition.... Avis complet
