After learning to ski in New Zealand over two brief seasons and paying an arm and a leg for congested, short, icy runs I was blown away with Sun Peaks. I went there on a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed. Lots of Aussies and Kiwis there, I guess because they know a good thing when they see it. I am frankly stunned at some of the comments here about the lack of variety. I guess its all relative isn't it? I am an intermediate skier and Sun Peaks was absolutely perfect for me. There is a bit of everything there - skiing through the trees, off piste, but most of all, large empty beautiful blue groomers. The best for getting your skill level up. So if you're a pro, then yeah, maybe best to head over to Kicking horse or Revelstoke. For the rest of us, this place is perfect, no queues, large areas to learn to carve and then plenty of blacks to progress to eventually when I get good enough. Apres ski? Yeah well its not Europe, but there is more than enough there for us older folk. Couple of very decent pubs, Japanese, Italian and Western style restaurants, and a couple really good cafes to grab a hot coffee in between sessions. Everything I want - I'll be back this year for sure.
Excellent groomers, great all-around ski resort
Fairly limited restaurant selections maybe

Sun Peaks is a beautiful resort in BC, underrated. You have to ski this place a lot to learn where the good stuff is. Tips is if you can walk a few 100 metres you ll have fresh pow almost guaranteed, just don't say it too loud. Villahe is quaint, folks are friendly, and its a great destination for families. I would add that summer and biking is starting to get a name there! Enjoy 4500 acres of terrain with no lines!
Variety of terrain, simple terrain Backcountry great for intro, solid village vibe, no lines
I d say no huge parties but that's ok and can stay in whistler.
O My Gosh
Just a bunch of intermediate and beginner runs. Food is very bad. really should just be a local resort, not a destination. Large yes, but that is like a huge buffet with all the trays holding potato dishes.
Very Flat
Even Flatter

I have skied all over B.C. and can't believe how underrated Sun Peaks is. Great terrain including lots of black runs, great slack country, and an awesome village with friendly staff. Just don't tell anyone!
excellelnt variety of terrian including easy acess to slack country . No lift lines, great ski in ski out and awesome village
can't think of any
I went here for a week in 2021. A lot of hype regarding the 2nd largest resort in Canada. It's mostly beginner & intermediate terrain. Very little advanced & expert terrain. Also an antiquated lift system for the size of the resort. Limited dining options in the base village. Also it's hard to get to. It's an all day trek from the US. For skiing in Canada I much more prefer Whistler, Revi or Kicking Horse. Whistler is crowded but lots of lifts & infrastructure there. Also it's easy to get to flying into Vancouver.

Sun peaks is great for families,
Overall, loved the resort and would recommend to friends. But the friendliness of staff is what really made it . From the chair lift operators to rental staff to restaurant staff. Everyone seemed happy to be there.
Lots of options of runs for all levels
signage, could use more signs part way down the hills, got lost a couple of times trying to get back to condo
