I love this place. I'm an intermediate skier, but I stopped skiing years ago because of all the hassle with big ski areas. Angel Fire is the perfect combination of friendly, fun, and hassle free. It got me skiing again. I highly recommend it!... Avis complet
Angel Fire is a ski resort that reminds me of the smaller, family style resorts in Europe. It's a friendly, uncrowded ski area and the slopes are well groomed. It has more than 500 acres of terrain, so it's not small, but it's not a monster like Breckenridge, etc.... Avis complet
Long lift lines! Half hour, plus. . Unmasked people, belligerently so, coughing spitting yelling packed together, hundreds in lift lines Unenforced mask mandate. Mostly Texans. Parking lots full Texas plates. Area supposedly at 1/4 capacity. Don’t think so Parking lots all full people everywhere, on slopes , lifts full capacity. Bad music blaring loud. Really a rude place to be. Too bad, it used to be a good area to have fun for intermediate skiing. I won’t go back. ... Avis complet
I lost skis on one trip the customer service rep was fantastic. ... Avis complet
Resort is hardly open - only a few green trails open. Literally one blue on the front side... as a result, mix of experts and beginners packed onto 10% of the ski area.
Supposedly running at 25% capacity. Have come here several times in the past. Feels the same, except cafeterias and cafes are closed inside so everyone is congregating around a few tables outside. Forget social distancing. Forget masks when walking uphill at 10,000 ft altitude.
Clearly, AF did not plan to open. THere is not a lot of snow, but they could open 4-6 more trails. Just not even taking the time to groom. Rather just fully roped off. NOTHING TO DO but the same green slope (ridge trails) over and over again.... Avis complet
Angel Fire is probably the second best ski resort in New Mexico after Taos. They have a very wide variety of terrain, long runs, some challenging terrain, pleasant staff, decent views and great snow. Mid-week skiing is amazing. The biggest con is that nearly every skier is from Texas, Oklahoma (aka Texas Part II), or Louisiana. Most of Angel Fire skiers ski like a bowling ball wrapped in jeans rolling down a cliff. Nearly every skier doesn’t know how to ski, let alone how to stop. So make sure you keep your head on swivel. Especially during Mardi Gras when Hal and his drunk Pals arrive!... Avis complet
Angel Fire ignores skier safety by leaving standing dead trees that can fall on lift cables. Fallen trees lay across over half The black diamond runs. Red garbage cans are used as padding on snowmaking terminals. All that matters is collecting money.... Avis complet
First time I pulled up to Angel Fire, I didn't think I was going to like it. The "town" is VERY spread out and doesn't have much to offer, at all. But, when we are there to ski, we rarely venture out in the evenings anyways. The base is more or less a bunch of temporary buildings and could definitely use some improvement as there are TONS of stairs which is difficult in ski boots. The skiing though is great. AWESOME beginner area to learn on with a small lift for the kids. Long greens and awesome blues. Definitely good for the money, but don't expect the fanciness you'll get out of a Colorado resort...by any means. But still a great place, we will go back for sure. ... Avis complet
I have skied Colorado (Copper is my fav), Utah, and Montana resorts and found Angel Fire to be competitive terrain and snow. I have two main questions: Do you want to stand in line or do you want to ski? Do you want to save money? Angel Fire is no-frills, but you will get a great ski day in and you won't have to spend time in line or crazy money. Since you will likely be traveling by car to the resort, there are a bunch of really nice houses on AirBnb & VRBO in the area very close to the ski hill, plus quite a few condos. Angel Fire does lack a cute downtown space for evenings (its a bit spread out, but there are fun places to go). My family tends to prefer to go back to our house or condo and enjot card games and movies anyway. This town is really about the people and they seem to absolutely love it!!... Avis complet
